Spanish is the most widely spoken Romance language and ranked fourth in spoken language in the world according to some sources, while others rank third.

The Italian language quite similar to Spanish which makes possible the relevant communication between the two peoples. Fewer are similarities with French and Romanian. In Greece in recent years has seen the Spanish preponderance. Pilot and even taught in public education, and since 1999 a department Spanish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, National University of Athens and part Spanish Language and Culture in the EAP (Greek Open University).
