Spanish is the most widely spoken Romance language and ranked fourth in spoken language in the world according to some sources, while others rank third.

It probably the second important language after English in terms of the western world, thanks to growing use in the U.S., the relevant enforcement to education, the growing economy of the Hispanic world, its influence in the music industry and world literature .
As language is related to several others in regard to phonology, grammar and spelling. Nearest all major languages are Portuguese. However, Spanish is closely related to Catalan, the astouriani, Galician and several other Romance languages. The Italian language quite similar to Spanish which makes possible the relevant communication between the two peoples. Fewer are similarities with French and Romanian. The Portuguese is spelled similar to Spanish in many ways but has a distinct phonology.
Spanish is one of the official languages of the United Nations and the European Union. The majority of speakers of the language found in the Western Hemisphere and Spain.

In Greece in recent years has seen the Spanish preponderance. Pilot and even taught in public education, and since 1999 a department Spanish Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philosophy, National University of Athens and part Spanish Language and Culture in the EAP (Greek Open University).
